Belmont: Small Planned Community Home

Once in a while, you will find small pockets of planned communities on the Mid-Peninsula, which is the case with this home at 11 Bridge Court. Here you will find less than a dozen homes, all with at least one common wall. However, this is not a dues-paying community. There is no HOA fee. Considered an “attached single family home,” it feels more like an upscale townhome, and this particular one is located at the end of the court with a great view of the canyon.
The downsides to this type of home is that you need to get along with neighbors, as it is a tight space all around, the street is a bit hard to find, and there is minimal yard. For $1,100,000 that is a lot of downsides. And I haven’t even gotten to the interior yet.
Immediately upon walking in, there is a small living room on your left with hardwood floor, fireplace, and a half-bath. This leads into the kitchen, with laundry room and garage off to the left and dining area off to the right. The stove, hood, and counters may be original, but the dual ovens and refrigerator are newer and the hardwood floor is in good shape. The eat-in dining area has sliding doors to the back yard, with lawn and enclosed hot tub. Through the dining area is an open dining room with rail and stairs between it and the family room. You have now come full circle and are at the stairs to the second story. The first bedroom is open to the stairwell and family room. There is rolling partition, so it can be closed off, but it might be more suitable as an office. The bedrooms all have carpets, dual-pane windows and flocked ceilings. The hall bath has a skylight, but has not been updated. The master bedroom has a small wood deck via sliding glass doors, but has no walk-in closet and a small, outdated bathroom.
While the outside appearance of this home is nice, the 2,280 square feet felt very small to me. While it is in move-in condition, there are things that most homeowners would want to update, and they are big ticket items like bathrooms and kitchen.
Well maintained home with tranquil canyon views! End lot, quiet retreat. Newer carpeting, light and bright, eat-in kitchen w/ access to back patio and lawn. Spacious family room w/ fireplace, loft bedroom-very versatile.
