Fremont: A Done Deal

According to the San Francisco Business Times the “Oakland A’s completed the purchase of the 226-acre parcel in Fremont where they plan to build a new ballpark.

Signed land agreements by A’s owner Lew Wolff and corporate partners Cisco Systems and ProLogis move the ball club closer to beginning construction of Cisco Field, estimated to cost between $400 million and $500 million, excluding the cost of the land.

In addition to the stadium, Wolff plans to build a mixed-use retail and housing development at the site to help finance stadium construction.”

Yes everyone – we are looking at more housing opportunities in Fremont. And because the current housing market is experiencing an overload, shall we say, of houses for sale in those it will be very interesting to see the prices that the new housing developments will be offering. Right now it is the trend to lower housing prices because of the high numbers of houses for sale.

“Cisco Field will be the smallest ballpark in Major League Baseball with no more than 34,000 seats. The A’s want to open the ballpark within three years of breaking ground.”
