Redwood City: Woodside Plaza Rancher
A few weeks ago, while reviewing the property next door, I told you this home at 1487 Virginia was “Coming Soon.” Well, now it is on the market and I had a chance to take a look at it. A 3-bedroom, 2-bath rancher in the Woodside Plaza neighborhood, close to schools and with easy freeway access, this home is priced at $825,000. At only 1,100 square feet (typical of the area’s original homes), that makes it $750/sf, which is a bit on the high side, but it’s neighbor went on the market at $929,000 and sold quickly, so my perception of home prices in this area may be skewed.
The living room with its hardwood floors and fireplace faces the street, there is no formal dining room, but there is a nice eat-in kitchen, which has been remodeled with 20-inch stone tiles, stainless appliances, and new cabinetry. Out the door there is a redwood deck, lawn, garden area, and play structure–good for entertaining and for children. The two front bedrooms have new paint and are carpet over hardwood, with new dual panes (throughout the house). The second bedroom is being used as an office and the closet has been turned into a bookcase. It is a rather small room, but has a nice window overlooking the backyard and deck. The hall bath has new tile in the shower/tub area, but the room has been painted purple, of all colors. The master bedroom is on the small side with a slider to the back deck, and small shower-only bathroom with linoleum flooring.
All in all, there is nothing remarkable about this home, but it is well taken care of, in a good family neighborhood near schools and shopping. Certainly worth a look if it is in your price range.
