Smell That Ocean Air
Want to wake up to crashing waves and walk to the beach for your morning surf? No, I am not talking Ocean Beach here, or Half Moon Bay. I am thinking Pacifica, that little burg just south of SF. The population is about 37,000, median age is 37, and the weather never gets really hot, with the ocean mist and regular fog keeping the town cool year round. You can shoot up Highway 1 or cross over Hwy 35 to 280 and shoot north or south–either way its not that bad of a commute to either the City or the Peninsula. And this cute little bungalow at 160 Salada might just be what you need. A two-bedroom, one-bath home of 950 square feet, it sold last year for $554,000. The listing price is $550,000, so someone is taking a loss here, considering all the work that has been done: fresh paint, new carpet, dual-paned windows, new lawn. And the best part: it is only 1 block to the beach. There is no garage to store those surfboards and you have to make do with an old-fashioned wall furnace, but that may be a small price to pay to be this close to the Pacific.
