SF: Sisters are Doing it for Themselves- Single Women Buyers: The Inner Sunset
The Inner Sunset District is another idyllic locale for a single gal to buy her first place. A very safe, very self contained neighborhood, you will find everything you need within a few blocks. Get your morning coffee fix at the Beanery or Starbuck’s (more proof there’s one on every corner); eat breakfast at the Crepery or soaking up the sun on Darla’s back porch.

Later you can grocery shop, bank, do your laundry, and visit a hardware store all on your way to the post office–or escape it all by following 9th Ave. right into the Golden Gate Park where the Big Rec field, AIDS garden, and Rhododendron Dell await you.

At night you need only venture a few feet to find a plethora of restaurants, bars and cafes– the Lucky Shamrock on Lincoln at 9th is one of SF’s oldest surviving watering holes complete with historic phots of drunken Irish immigrants, couches, backgammon tables and a dart room. If you get your fill of all this fun somehow, step on the N-Judah train and visit any part of the city with quick convenience.
The architecture at the heart of the district is largely multi-use with store fronts acting as the lower story and a residence up top. You will also find condos and TIC’s in some of the larger buildings, and as you travel up toward the Golden Gate Heights, single family homes and two/three unit homes with breathtaking views.
Proximity to USF, the Haight, UCSF, Cole Valley, West Portal, Twin Peaks, and even the Mission means this ‘hood is in demand. A buyer could be sure that once she secured herself in a property, its value would continue to grow. The charms of the Inner Sunset won’t fade.
