Berkeley: Sneak Preview Of Claremont Home

parkside 153 Berkeley: Sneak Preview Of Claremont Home

Sometimes it pays to be nosy.

A “Coming Soon” sign has just gone up outside a home on Berkeley’s coveted Parkside Drive in the Claremont neighborhood (right).

I decided to investigate and, even though it isn’t even open to realtors yet — being in the throes of a complete decorative makeover — a real estate agent who was on-site graciously offered to show me around the house.

I’m constrained to stick the facts here, so I can report that the home has three bedrooms plus a sleeping porch and will most likely have an asking price of $1,550,000.

Parkside Drive has its own park (below) which, among other things, is the focal point of the neighborhood’s annual Independence Day parade. (They held their 46th this year.)

The last house to be sold on Parkside Drive went for $2,625,000, 24% above its asking price of $1,988,000.

This one has its first open on Sunday 22 July.

I would love to tell you more about the house’s state but unfortunately cannot as Sweet Digs can no longer provide independent assessments of homes for sale. Suffice to say you are on the right track!
