SF and Daly City: Beach Access
The halycon days of clear skies, even along the so often obscured coast, make many a San Francisan wish for a house near the beach. Okay, so the occasions when you can sit in a bikini on your deck– without your peacoat on as well– are few and far between, but oh, they are sweet…
With that in mind, here are a few properties on the market within walking distance of a place where you can slip off your shoes and slip into the ocean. I’ll do a different beach neighborhood with each post.
Ocean Beach:
This stretch of sand and sea is bordered by Sutro Heights on the north and Fort Funston on the south. Surfers love it because of its long sets, but it is by no means for beginners since the dangerous rip tipes and undertows have drowned even the experienced. But many a dog lover enjoys this beach too, along with bird lovers and lovers in general. Joggers, kayakers, windsurfers, kite boarders, swimmers, walkers, bonfire makers… you get the idea.
