The coolest area to live in San Jose for the young, and young at heart IS Santana Row. 333 Santana Row has several choice lofts for sale that are walking distance to the many restaurants, movie theaters, and bars in the area. My choice is a listing in the DeForest building that has a catwalk, two parking spaces, and is located on a cul de sac for $725,000.

Another area where lofts are springing up, at a less “lofty” price is the Japantown neighborhood of San Jose. Many sushi restaurants are located a stones throw away from these dwellings, and downtown San Jose is an easy five minute drive. One choice unit on Mission Street features cherry wood cabinetry and brazilian cherry flooring for $545k. This building is also walking distance to the farmer’s market, a key selling feature for fans of organic produce.

Lofts are definitely here to stay in the San Jose real estate market, and represent a new life style that oozes with “coolness”.
