Berkeley: Another Ratcliff Hits The Market

I wasn’t exagerrating when I said it was Ratcliff season in Berkeley.

Another home with his name attached has just come up for sale and is open for the first time tomorrow, Sunday October 7.

This one is in a prime location and ain’t going cheap — but $3.2 million will get you some very distinguished architecture with a Mediterranean feel, five bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms and a separate carriage house at 2957 Avalon Avenue in the Claremont neighborhood.

The last two homes to sell on Avalon earlier this summer went well above asking price. Number 2940 went for $2.2 million, while 2934 sold for a remarkable 40% over asking at $4,050,000.

Update: A correction of sorts as it turns out this home was not open, today Sunday 7, even though it is clearly for sale. Both a “For Sale” sign and a “Coming Soon” sign are outside the house. Sorry if anyone made the effort to go see it (me included!)
