Recent Home Sales In Los Gatos

sold Recent Home Sales In Los Gatos In an earlier post, I mentioned that one of the areas in Santa Clara County that is holding its value well is Los Gatos.  Los Gatos is one of the most sought after locations in the Bay Area, with beautiful shopping areas, upscale restaurants, and a view of the mountains.  Here is the proof; a list of recent home sales from SFgate.com.

Most homes in this list were sold for over $1M.  Homes sold for less in Los Gatos typically are found in the mountain areas, where commuting is difficult.

  • You wrote, "Most homes in this list were sold for over $1M. Homes sold for less in Los Gatos typically are found in the mountain areas, where commuting is difficult." This is true. I would add two things. First, the town of Los Gatos 99% the same as the 95032 and 95030 zip codes (there are some odd exceptions). Second, the "mountain homes" have a 95033 zip code and while they have a Los Gatos mailing address, are not actually part of the "town" of Los Gatos. They do not vote in town elections or utilize the services of the town's police.

Within the town, a big indicator of value will also be the school districts (not all the homes in Los Gatos are assigned to the Los Gatos School District) - lesser priced homes are often those with the non LGSD schools.
