The Nitty and the Gritty in San Pablo

Here’s another affordable town in the western part of Contra Costa County: San Pablo. There are some striking views and good deals in this working-class town that is quite down-to-earth, despite its rolling hills. San Pablo Dam Road winds through the town, giving rise to the somewhat tongue-in-cheek name of the local motorcycle shop, Dam Cycles. If you decide to check out homes in San Pablo, be sure to have a friend or agent familiar with the area on hand, since some ‘hoods are pretty dicey. Recent price reductions in San Pablo:

2955 Cornelius Drive, San Pablo: 3 bedrooms/1.5 baths, 1,080 sq ft. The list price was $419,000, now dropped to $399,000.

1907 Murphy Drive, San Pablo: 4 bedrooms/2.5 baths, 1,671 sq ft. The list price was $504,900 and dropped to $479,900.

2072 Murphy Drive, San Pablo: 3 bedrooms/2 baths, 1,437 sq ft. The list price was $399,000, now dropped to $385,000.

2598 Shamrock Drive, San Pablo: 3 bedrooms/2 baths, 1,187 sq ft. The list price was $454,500, dropped to $440,000.
