SF and Daly City: Foundations that Last

earthquake SF and Daly City: Foundations that Last

Yesterday morning, I posted an earthquake inspired blurb touching on some of the Bay Area’s resources that help you plan more intelligently for a large quake. One step in that planning is choosing a home with a proper foundation. And, according to several major studies, steel and concrete play major roles in reinforcing such foundations to make your home more stable and durable. Accordingly, I sought out current homes on the market that offer that kind of construction. Here are four: 2 in SF; 2 in Daly City.

2479 Diamond St, San Francisco, CA $1,498,000 5/3 SFH
Fully remodeled 3-level home with garage, hardwoods, deck, peaceful garden area with fountain. Close access to Glen Park, Bart, and 280. Note the home sold for less than 1 million in 2005, so that might figure in your negotiations.

Construction: Wood Frame, Steel Frame, Reinforced Concrete

San Antonio Cir #323, Daly City, CA  94014 $469,900  2/1 condo.

1600 Webster St. #307, San Francisco, CA 94115 $699,000 1/1 condo.

  • yes- the asking is pretty steep; that's why I thought it worth mentioning. You can always offer less...

You would have to be the worlds biggest fool to buy that house on Diamond St. at listing price. The house was only 287k in 1995 when it was built...now they want 1.5MM? No wonder it hasnt sold. This is why I am waiting to buy even though I have the means to buy now if I wanted.
