Berkeley: New Listings From The Brave And/Or Foolhardy

Brave or desperate. If you’re putting your house on the market this week — when it’s started to rain on top of all the other reasons not to list — then it’s definitely a case of “needs must”.
Good for buyers though. So if you’re one of those (join the club), check out these newly listed homes this weekend:
A 4/1.5 home on 8,000+ sq feet in the north Berkeley hills (no address yet but zip is 94708) built in 1991 has just appeared priced $1,895,000. Rumor has it the enormous lot next door is also for sale in the $600K region.
770 Spruce Street: 4/3 mid-century home with Bay views and “dramatic” open floor plan, “soaring” ceilings, in-law apartment. Price: $1,050,000.
1127 Hearst Street: 2/2 single family detached home built in 1920s with craftsman details — on lot with two other condo units. Price:$589,000.
721 65th Street: 3/1-story house in “country English” style. Price: $639,000.
2748 California Street: 2/1 “updated craftsman” home (pictured above) with “snazzy” stainless steel kitchen, vintage details and “lush” landscaping. Price: $619,000 (or $645/sq ft).

Update: Even the house’s listing agent is being very secretive about the address for the $1.8m home that has just come on the market in north Berkeley (mentioned above). Different maps on the agent’s website put it on different streets. My guess is that it is either on Wildcat Canyon Road or (more probably) Grizzly Peak Boulevard (with Keeler as the cross street). Good luck finding it on the open house weekend!
