Remember the Alamo! Er, that’s “Remember Alamo!”

Actually, if you’ve ever cruised through Alamo, you’ll find it hard to forget. This Contra Costa County town is beautiful (“an enclave of green,” as some have put it), and is part of a group of neighboring upscale towns including Danville. A highly pertinent fact about Alamo: its median income is $169,918, according to ESRI Business Analyst Online, and the average home value is more than $1 million. With this in mind, let’s take a look at some Alamo residences that sold over the last three months. (Photo of CoCo County landmark Mt. Diablo: Jef Poskanzer on flickr.)
3084 Lunada Lane, Alamo: 4 bedrooms/2.5 baths, 3,001 sq ft, sold Oct. 4 for $1,620,000. Ooh la la! This is like having a country residence not that far from the city. While Alamo is north of the dreaded Caldecott Tunnel, where traffic jams tend to form even when it’s not rush hour, it’s also relatively close to the tunnel, making it more bearable.
117 Via Serena, Alamo: 3 bedrooms/2.5 baths, 2,646 sq ft, sold for $1,675,o00 on Oct. 9.
141 Bolla Avenue, Alamo: 4 bedrooms/2.5 baths, 2,282 sq ft, sold for $1,370,000 on Oct. 16. We told you this was a pricey town, eh?
18 Creek Tree Lane, Alamo: 3 bedrooms/2 baths, 1,851 sq ft, sold for $849,000 on Oct. 12. But soft! What light through yonder window breaks? Here’s what amounts to a real deal in high-end Alamo.
1470 Danville Boulevard, Apt. 10: 2 bedrooms/1.5 baths, 1,005 sq ft, sold for $375,000 on Nov. 30. And just in case you’d love to live in Alamo but can’t quite bankroll the million-plus abodes common to the place, yes, there is hope: you can always check out condos like this one.
