The report and articles highlighted the plight of firefighters, but I'm sure any type of civil service/ government work face similar challenges. Thanks for bringing it up! But prices here have averaged 6X income over the past 30 years, so have been relatively unaffordable relative to median wages for quite some time (the rest of the US has averaged 2.8X income for the past 30 years).
