More Pet Peeves – Bad Marketing

foot More Pet Peeves Bad MarketingToday, I spotted an ad for a “Hoeuse for sale – in Willo Glen.” Unbelievable! In this market, it is imperative that you put your best foot forward when trying to sell a home. Why would anyone put out an ad in Craigslist with such obvious typos. Very little or no description of the home was present, and no photo.

In marketing, it’s the little things that count. If you present your property in this manner, those viewing your ad are apt to think that you have taken care of it in the same way you took care of making sure you had a professional ad – in other words, they would be afraid the ceiling would cave in the first time they took a shower!

No one wants to buy a home formerly occupied by someone who presents themselves in a careless manner.

If you can’t spell, it is fully worth it to hire someone to write the ad for you. If you want to do a “For-Sale-By-Owner” to save on Realtor fees, then ask around until you find a friend who is articulate and can spell.

Otherwise, you may not get the tope preece fur yur hoome!

Hoeuse was on purpose - the others were the bad example rubbing off on me......

  • One I see often is "Red Fin." It's "Redfin."

    Are these also on purpose?
