Overwhelming Values in Orinda

theater Overwhelming Values in OrindaOrinda is one of the most highly prized towns in Contra Costa, with a gorgeous downtown crowned with the Orinda Theater, a restored art deco palace visible from Highway 24. And behold, there are actually places in the $400,000 to $600,000 range, some within walking distance of downtown. (Photo: City of Orinda.)

73 Brookwood Road #52, Orinda: 1 bedroom/1 bath, 673 sq ft, $439,000. Vaulted ceilings, glass walls, granite countertops, walk to BART, downtown and movies. For someone who doesn’t need a lot of space and who highly values neighborhood, this could be a great place to live. If you’re claustrophobic or have kids, no way; it’s only three roms and 637 square feet. To me, the deck with its view of trees and sky and the glass living room walls are a strong draw.

73 Brookwood Road #40, Orinda: 2 bedroms/1 bath, 882 sq ft, $419,000. This one has more room than the first one, and is in the same condo complex, close to downtown.

2 Marston Road, Orinda: 2 bedrooms/1 bath, $530,000. Fireplace, deck, patio, but, the listing warns, needs TLC, always a caution sign. Still, this detached single-family dwelling looks nice in the photos.

  • Oh, it's on the border, I see. It's always good to get the perspective of someone on the scene, thanks for commenting!

Me and my family live here, the condo is on the border of Orinda/Moraga and they have been trying to sell if for a while, they keep changing it's info. Wanted to give people a heads up so they don't get tricked.

  • Wow, thanks, anon! I really appreciate the heads-up. I'll delete the listing right away. Are you looking to buy in Orinda, then, or just browsing the area?

Hey, I'm a reader in Orinda, I just wanted to say that 202 Miramonte Drive is not actually in Orinda. It is actually in Moraga. anonymous
