BJ: Great insider info on Hudson. This is what we need to hear. Also interesting point on Rockridge boundaries. Redfin will no doubt take note.

Dan: My bad. I was rushing out to look at a potential house to buy and didn't proofread my copy. A terrible slip-up. Apologies! Thanks for the corrections.

Hello! Thanks for another post about my neighborhood, Rockridge! As Dan mentions Global Video is at 51st & Telegraph, not College & Lawton, so the new development will actually be in Temescal. I'm a bit bummed at the news that they'll demolish Global Video, I really like their video store.

Also, I might reconsider the second pick of the three most interesting in Rockridge. It seems to have real problems on the market. Note that it sold for $549,000 on 12/07/2007 and $456,000 on 04/11/2007. Has it really improved $100k worth in one month and $200k worth in 9 months?

And thirdly, I super duper appreciate Redfin's neighborhood searches, but I disagree with the boundaries they've drawn for Rockridge. I believe that the neighborhood extends much further SW than the borders show. Arguably the borders of a neighborhood are even more nebulous and debatable then the borders of a city like Piedmont, but the borders defined here at the Rockridge Community Planning Council http://rockridge.org/boundaries.html might be a good start.

Thanks for the post!

Global Video is nowhere near College and Lawton. Also, what is Rockride?

Does anyone proofread this?
