Who Do They Think They Are Kidding?
Not even staging will help sell this miniscule 728 sf Mountain View home overpriced at $849,000 (except maybe a relocation to Palo Alto). I was shocked to see that the Daily Stat leader yesterday, by a mile, was this home at 1264 Latham Street. What are you all looking at, exactly? Why is this property so interesting? Is it like watching a train wreck? Waiting to see how much of price cut occurs, or how low the offer is? Granted, this is one cute little cottage that has been completely updated, but it is 728 sf on a 3,049 sf lot. Tiny on tiny. And while the listing says there is a 700 sf finished basement, and you could convert the garage to an office, that would be like throwing good money after bad (or bad money after bad?). At a cost of $1,116 per square foot, I imagine that this little one will be on the market a lot longer than the current 78 days. And here’s the kicker: it was originally listed on November 19th at $799,000, so the price went UP on January 14th, not DOWN…..
