Top Mill Valley Picks for Under a Mil

Mill Valley.  Focus on the Mill part – as in one Million plus for homes in this idyllic community.  Tall redwoods, a community town square, good schools, easy access to San Fran… what more could one want? 

For those who want it, the price tag for a stand alone house has for some time, usually been at least $1 million.  As the prices creep lower around the rest of the country, it may be doing the same in Mill Valley.  Here are a handful of homes that are allow you to get into Mill Valley for under a mil:

78 Marguerite Ave  – 3 beds, 2 baths, 1143SF – $899,000:  This is my top pick.  Just listed and coming in a good amount under $1 million, this has a nice location near downtown and on a large lot - 9,670SF. 

57 N Knoll Rd  -  3 beds, 2 baths, 1450SF – $799,000: While I prefer to be on the west side of 101, this house looks to have an attractive asking price.  On the other side 101, this is multi level home has tons of outdoor space, just ready for the spring and summer. 

 668 Northern Ave  – 2 beds, 2 baths, 980SF – $725,000:  Marketed as the Marin getaway for the Silicon Valley set, which gives the impression it’s a small house and somewhere you only want to be on the weekends.  Sits on a large lot, but probably will need work if you intend to raise a family here. 

642 Northern Ave - 2 beds, 1 bath, 1031SF – $985,000:  Just down the street from the one above, this one seems to be a bit pricey.  At $955 per SF, not as much bang for your buck as the others.  However, the house looks well maintained and exudes a certain charm.
