La Honda: Bucolic Respite from the Burbs

As a follow-up to my recent editorial post “Get Away From It All,” I thought I would enlighten you about all 13 properties currently for sale in La Honda. La Honda, with a population of under 2000, is an unincorporated area of west San Mateo County. You won’t find any condos or townhouses, but you will find cabins, geodesic domes, and SFRs. Prices range from $299,950 to $1,195,000, which will buy you anywhere from a 450 sf 1/1 to a 4,360 sf 6/3. Days on Market (DOM) always show long, as this is a very select market and buyers are not plentiful. (Keep this in mind for resale purposes.) The big benefit is the lot size. These listings have some smaller lots (3100 – 6000 sf), as well as 2 to 6 acre tree-lined lots.
