Treachery And Murder: Keeping Us All Up To Speed

Thank you reader Optionarm for identifying the UC Berkeley President’s usual residence as Blake House in Kensington (pictured below in 1928).

In another update on a previous post, it is not my pleasure to note the sixth murder of the year in our fair city.

Time to move to San Leandro

Or Danville?

David said:

Nah, Danville’s too far out, unless you work in Walnut Creek, etc.

PS. San Leandro’s still a 25 BART ride to the city, same time as downtown Berkeley.

I think you’re confusing the governance structure of the University of California, of which there are 9+ separate campuses (http://www.ucop.edu/ucophome/coordrev/orgchart.html). There is no such thing as “UC Berkeley President”. The UC President heads the entire system, while each campus is headed by a chancellor who reports to the president. Thus, there is no need for the President to be loyal to any one campus. In fact, the Office of the President is actually in downtown Oakland.

Joe Chen: You are right and I stand corrected. Thank you for your comment.

FWIW, I love Danville, especially westside. Lived there from 2000-2001. But it definitely ain’t cheap!
