Festival Friday: Burlingame Art in the Park
This weekend, you might want to head over to the 38th Annual Art in the Park Festival in Burlingame. Held in Washington Park (Carolan and Burlingame avenues), this yearly event will host over 120 artists, vendors and musicians from all over California. Stroll through booths, enjoy some tasty food (the proceeds of which benefit local non-profit organizations), and head over to the main stage for some quality entertainment.
Schedule to perform on Saturday are Brian Wachorst (10:30 am), Oscar Reynolds Trio (12:30 pm), The Refugees (3:30 pm). On Sunday, Golden Chordsman (10:30 am), Gemini Soul (12:30 pm), and Majestic Swing (3:30 pm).
As a bonus, the Burlingame Youth Advisory Committee will hold its 2nd Annual Youth Activities Area at Art in the Park! Children of all ages are invited to celebrate our “Keeping It Green” theme with performers Lori & RJ from Cotton Candy Express, Cathy Foxhoven’s Show Choir, plus family games and craft booths.

You can head to the cooking stage and check out any of the 14 scheduled events and meet celebrity chefs Ted Allen, Joey Altman, or Joseph Keller. Or, if you are in the process of landscaping or want to learn more about gardening, there will be 14 demos, with something sure to enlighten you. And over 100 vendors and exhibitors will be there to share their wares, from Cedar Lake Cottage Goods to Pierce Ranch Vineyards to a Hands-On Garden Project. Tickets for the event are not available in advance. General admission is $12, Seniors $10, and children under 12 are free. ($1 savings if you park at Sun Microsystems and take the shuttle over or if you bike to the event). There is also a free shuttle from the Menlo Park Caltrain Station.
