Festival Fridays: Cirque de la Bastille
How about something a little different this weekend? You can combine the entertainment factor of a French circus and French food along with a great shopping experience, both at San Jose’s Santana Row. Saturday and Sunday you can head to Santa Clara County to their very own version of Bastille Day. There will be a large triple-peaked circus tent with acrobatics, trapeze artists, jugglers, mimes, even fire breathers. You will also have the chance to taste authentic French cuisines, play Petanque (a lawn bowling game), and watch the French Poodles on Parade (a benefit for the Humane Society). Running from 11 am to 8 pm both days, there will be special events and treats throughout the weekend.
When you tire of all the revelry, you can explore Santana Row, a mixed-use property containing a beautiful shopping center with 70 shops and 20 restaurants, premium office space, and high-end townhomes and flats. Check out the upscale swag, listen to some jazz (Saturday at 8pm, Sunday at 1pm), or tour an open house.
Santana Row townhomes are 2 to 4 bedrooms and two-car garage, while flats are 1 to 3 bedrooms.
Easy access from Highways 280 and 880. Directions can be found here.
