I realize the psychological need to talk things up, especially if your livelihood depends on it, but this strikes me as a little too close to The Emperor's New Clothes. Buyers seemed to come out of the woodwork, abandoning the fences they'd sat upon for the first half of 2009. And more sellers than I expected put their homes on the market before the Fall rush. All in all, we're in good shape, and transactions are closing more frequently. San Francisco’s August was busier than I’ve seen the month’s activity since I started selling real estate seven years ago. Buyers seemed to come out of the woodwork, abandoning the fences they’d sat upon for the first half of 2009. And more sellers than I expected put their homes on the market before the Fall rush. All in all, we’re in good shape, and transactions are closing more frequently.
