For anyone who loves this neighborhood and wants to live there (as opposed to buying an investment opportunity) then I still stand on the idea that this is a rare find worth exploring (assuming they have several hundred thousand more to spend on immediate and future renovations, obviously.) In my view, Kalorama will always be in demand over the long term, even if we are in a rocky period now. Also, since the seller put it on the market at this inauspicious time, I would bet he/she needs the cash and might be willing to negotiate.
